Which fish and when?
In Mauritius, big game fishing is possible all year round. Here are the main seasons.
Mahi-mahi, tuna, trevally
Mahi-mahi (dorado), skipjack tuna, yellowfin tuna, giant trevally (GT), barracuda and several species of shark.
Blue marlin
Its high season follows the hottest months, with the most catches from December to March.
Black marlin
Highly prized and active during the southern winter. A great chance to combine fishing with Rusa deer hunting.

What is the best season for big game fishing in Mauritius?
You can fish all year round. For blue marlin, the high season runs from November to April. Black marlin is most active from May to November.
Do you offer half-day trips?
Yes. We arrange half-day or full-day trips, depending on your wishes and the weather.
Can I keep the fish I catch?
Our trips are not catch-and-release only. We discuss it together when you book.
Can I combine fishing and hunting on the same trip?
Yes. Many of our hunters add a big game fishing trip to their Rusa deer hunting stay.
